Most of us would probably agree that we do like to look our best, when we can. It’s also likely that most of us have at one point dealt with a situation in which we needed to take care of some part of our physical appearance in a short amount of time. Ever had your face breakout before a big event? It’s frustrating, to say the least. But be it skin or hair troubles, sometimes it seems there is not enough time to help us prepare for a big event or situation we’ll be in the following day or week. Luckily, there has been much research and innovation on this matter, and there are a few quick fixes and treatments you can do as quick as overnight to help you look and feel your best!
Split ends are a common issue for most of us, but if you can’t get a hair appointment before a big event, try putting some melted coconut oil, or 1/2 tbsp of honey mixed with 1 tbsp of olive oil, on your ends overnight. The properties in these ingredients will help soften and moisturize, leaving your ends looking a lot better by morning.
Soft and shiny hair isn’t always easy to come by. Surprisingly, beer actually has properties which help enhance shine and softness of hair. Mix a bit of beer with some raw egg yolk and massage into your hair, cover with a bag or shower cap for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with your usual shampoo. This method will result in slightly softer and shinier hair than normal!
What about the brows?
All of us are not blessed with thick, amazing eyebrows. Where genetics takes, nature gives…as we have castor oil as a great treatment to help soften and enhance eyebrow growth. Apply with a q-tip nightly and continue this long-term to see some serious improvement in your brow growth and appearance!
If you want softer skin, coconut oil is your friend. Massage some on your cuticles, legs or hands before bedtime and by morning you’ll likely have much softer skin. Also, Hawaiian Tropic, you know the maker of most sunscreens, has an amazing product called “Hawaiian Tropic Touch of Color Tinted Spray Lotion”, which not only moisturizes your legs before you go out, but it gives a natural hint of color (not a fake tan) and evens your tone a bit so your legs will look extra good!
If your face breaks out before a big event, use a q-tip and dab some tea-tree oil onto it before going to sleep. It’ll help to reduce redness without drying out your skin. Another great method is to apply a tiny bit of witch hazel, which also aids in reducing redness and treat your spots quickly.
If your face needs a tiny bit of a boost, Vitamin E or Avocado oil dropped into your usual moisturizer can help you wake up with softer, more radiant skin as well.
Don’t forget the lips!
An effective way to wake up with soft and plump lips is to put on several layers of moisturizing lip balm or chapstick before going to sleep…but really dab it on in layers and make it as messy as you can, no one will be seeing you while you sleep anyway. By morning most of the product will have sunk into your lips and made them luscious and soft!
